Those leading each research line maintain their university base and work under an agenda coordinated by the institute.

Scientific agenda: research priorities shaped by scientific leadership, national criteria and connection to the international frontier.
Competitive research lines: teams are selected competitively, coordinated by the institute and remain linked to their home universities.
Challenge intake: government and industry problems are structured, prioritized and matched with the appropriate scientific capability.
Verifiable transfer: every project leaves behind installed capability, evidence and reusable knowledge, with a clear adoption owner.

Additional lines will join through a competitive call in 2027.

September 2026: presentation of the institute and establishment of its first research line, imaging and computer vision.
September 2026: launch of the competitive call for additional research lines.
December 2026: selection of the teams responsible for the new research lines.
2027: new research lines begin operating and the program grows in stages.
